back to MAY 1976: HOLLY WOODLAWN GOES HOME

Holly Woodlawn's father sees her show

Holly Woodlawn:

My father came to the show and loved it. My mother couldn't make it; she had to take care of the dogs. The dogs?! My parents had known about me living as a women since my days with Jack, and although they weren't pleased, what could they say? My mother cried and my father was supportive, but it wasn't until after I became famous and was photographed with Rock Hudson that they really came around and accepted the idea. Also, by this time, my parents had moved into a new house, so it was okay for me to come home as a woman since the new neighbors didn't know the difference." (HW268)
